Customized peers with Peer Tracker

The Infront Analytics platform provides you with predefined lists of comparable companies   for quick analysis, as well as the right tools to find the most relevant company peers as simply as possible when you need customized peers. One way of finding customized peers is to use Screener to search for companies in a specific business sector. Another way described in this section is to edit predefined comparables using Peer Tracker.

Build a custom list of comparables from predefined comparables

For any company 3 predefined lists (International Peers, Regional Peers, Domestic Peers) made of 15 comparable companies each are available in the Company Peers view. You can build your own list of comparable companies selecting companies belonging to the predefined peer groups and adding any other company manually if needed.

Click the  sign in the last column of Predefined Comparables or drag-and-drop the company name to add a company to your personal list. Selected companies appear in the My List of Comparables right panel.

Once all companies have been added, click Save to save your list.

You can then directly navigate to any of the views available in the Select Action dropdown box, or switch to the My Lists interface to analyze your personal list further.

Use Peer Tracker to customize the industry sector selection

The Peer Tracker is the tool used for generating the predefined peer groups. When a predefined peer group includes companies with low comparability scores, its quality is questionable and it is advised to modify the search settings in the Peer Tracker tool to look for additional peers with higher scores.

Open the Peer Tracker search panel clicking the PeerTracker vertical bar located on the left.

The Peer Tracker shows the sector footprint for the selected company, i.e. all sectors from all available industry classifications in which the company is included.

Adjust the focus of the comparable search by changing the sector selection and/or adding a geographical filter.

Click Apply Changes to run your customized search.

Peers sorted by decreasing order of comparability score are displayed in the PeerTracker Results panel.

Companies can then be added to your personal list as required.

Customized peer group tips

When saving your list of comparables, the list name is predefined and cannot be modified in order to preserve the link between the selected company and your customized peer group. Thus, if you reopen the Peer Tracker at a later time for that company, your customized peer group will be automatically selected.

Peer Tracker settings such as Size factor or Only companies with estimates have a major impact on the search results. If needed you can clear those check boxes to broaden the search.
