Understanding the best source algorithm

Modified on Mon, 10 Aug, 2020 at 4:33 PM

What is the best source?

Two data sources are available on the Infront Analytics platform for financial statements: WVB and FactSet. When a company is covered by both sources, an algorithm called best source determines the source to be used for analytics calculations.

How do I check the best source for a company?

For any company, the best source is the Source shown by default in the Financial Statements view (WVB in the example below).

Can the best source change over time?

WVB is the best source for most companies as WVB financials are much more detailed than FactSet financials on the Infront Analytics platform.

When new financial results are first available through FactSet, the best source switches from WVB to FactSet. The best source will be switched back to WVB as soon as new results are available through WVB with the required quality level.
