Rebased quotes charts

Rebased quotes charts allow easy comparison of the relative performance of stocks and market indices.

Where do I find it?

Rebased quotes charts are available in the Quotes view under Charts (Companies and My List interfaces).

What do I need to know?

Analyzing a stock’s price performance over a period commonly involves comparing it against an appropriate benchmark (market index, sector index, comparable stocks). To do so, just laying one chart on top of another does not work, the data needs to be rebased in order for the comparison to make any sense.

A Standard rebased quotes chart does not show an absolute price change. It displays at each point of time how much percentage the price changed from a selected date in the past, called the rebase date and corresponding to the start date of the selected period.

Another rebased method called Price Relative is available. This method measures the relative performance of the selected stock(s) to the benchmark index.

The default view shows the standard rebased chart for the selected company vs. the predefined list of international peers (Companies interface), or for the selected personal list (My Lists interface). You can change the Active List and/or Add a Company to the chart.

You can use the menu icon shown in the top-right corner of the chart to print it or export it as an image or PDF file.
