Searching for companies or comparables

Modified on Mon, 10 Aug, 2020 at 4:33 PM

The Infront Analytics platform can be used to search for companies according to a set of user-defined criteria. This is useful for a variety of tasks such as finding the best opportunities matching your investment criteria, or searching for company peers in a specific business sector.

Find companies

Click the Screener button in the top navigation bar. This will open the company screening tool.

In the left panel, screening criteria are grouped in three categories:

  • Universe: narrow down the company universe using filters on regions, markets, indices, or personal lists.
  • Industry: filter companies by industry sectors or searching for keywords in their business summary.
  • Financial Criteria: select criteria on company financials and analytics from a list of 150+ available criteria.

View results

Companies matching selected criteria are shown in the Screen Results central panel.

For each selected criterion, the number of company matches is shown in the left panel, making it easier to adjust screening values.

Screen results are immediately updated as soon as a value is changed.

Save results

Click the gs_tb_searching2.png sign in the last column of Screen Results to add a company to your personal list. Selected companies appear in the My List of Companies right panel.

Once all companies have been added, click Save to save your list.

You can then directly navigate to any of the views available in the Navigate with my list to dropdown box, or switch to the My Lists interface to analyze your personal list further.

Screening tips

When screening on industries, highly specialized companies could be difficult to find due to the lack of relevant industry sector. When it happens, it is often more efficient to replace the industry filter by business summary keywords (in English). You can use quotation marks to search for a string of keywords, as well as operators (and, or) to broaden or narrow the search.

For any screen, only the first 25 matching results are shown. You need to click the Show All Results button in the Screen Results header to display all companies matching your criteria.
